Everyone on this list is someone I have worked with personally as a Disc Jockey and Wedding Planner, and have enjoyed not only working with them at the actual weddings but appreciated their final products.

Traditional or Photojournalistic Style?

This is HUGE! Some people have no problem posing and being the center of attention. Others hate posing for pictures non-stop. Weddings are celebrations, they are not photo shoots. Some photographer don’t “get this”. Don’t be fooled by these amazing “styled shoots” that are in all the magazines. It took them 5 hours to shoot one picture. You need someone who can work in the difficult low light situation that is reality at most weddings. You need someone who can focus fast and capture EVERYTHING!!!

Weddings are TOUGH to photograph! REALLY!!!! When you share your first kiss as a married couple, there are about 3 seconds to get that shot! (and there isn’t a “do-over”) (this is another obvious reason to get a videographer because you catch all the action)

The Final Word of advice:

Make sure you can see “the life” of the celebration in the finished albums. Make sure “the life” of the celebration was captured. In my opinion, you need MORE than just the TRADITIONAL pictures!!!! (getting off of soap box now)
