Virginia Weddings are popular because, let's face it,  Virginia is a beautiful state with relatively pleasant weather most of the year.  We also have some of the best natural views of water, mountains and trees as compared to any other state.  (yes, I'm biased) Sure we have our humidity, but fans and air conditioning solve that problem. Because of this, we can have weddings almost year-round.

wedding venues

We have tons of water front wedding properties, as well as countless vineyards and rustic mountaintop venues. We have old school plantations, unique restored homes and as well as modern luxury resorts. Whatever your wedding vibe is, we have it here in Virginia.

Increasing popular are late fall/early winter weddings in October, November and December followed by late winter/early spring weddings in March, April and May. Of course, June, July and August have always been popular, so be sure to reserve your date early. Now, if you're looking for the "slow time" in order to get a great deal, you might consider a winter wedding during January and February. These are the "slowest" months.  However, that is when we do get snow. But hey, perhaps that's your wedding dream...snow on your wedding day!!!!

Choosing a wedding date in Virginia

how much does a wedding cost in Virginia?

One of the nicest things about living in Williamsburg, Virginia and doing weddings right here in my own backyard, is that many people choose our beautiful little town for their destination weddings. Some are history buffs and others have attended the College of William and Mary, fell in love with this town, and want to return for their wedding celebrations. They got engaged at Crim Dell and love all things Williamsburg. They also get a bigger bang for their buck as compared to northern Virginia weddings.

destination weddings

All Weddings are expensive no matter where you host your celebration, and the reality is whether your budget is $10,000 or $100,000, it's still the most expensive party you will ever throw, so it's important to make wise decisions. In the Williamsburg and Hampton Roads area, the average wedding cost is approximately $30,000. Some pull it off for $20k while other go well above 60k. And if these numbers scare you, it's not too late to elope and save yourself the stress and the money!!!!
